Zihao (Scott) Li joined the Department of Civil, Construction & Environmental Engineering at Marquette University as an Assistant Professor in August 2026. He received his Ph.D. in Civil & Environmental Engineering from Texas A&M University, his M.S. from Tsinghua University, and his B.Eng. from Northeastern University.
His research focuses on multimodal and agentic AI for intelligent transportation systems, social-cyber-physical transportation resilience, connected and automated vehicle control, traffic flow modeling, and active traffic safety analysis.
Selected recognition includes the Texas A&M University Dissertation Fellowship, the TTI Keese-Wootan Transportation Fellowship, the ITS Texas Scholarship, and the FERSC Special Recognition of Outstanding Leadership and Services.
